1% Pincushion Distortion Correction not working
I have some images that have around 1% pincushion distortion, but when I set 1%, it does nothing. 2% is far too much, and all other 1% changes are easily noticeable (2 to 3,3 to 4, etc), but 1% is unchanged from 0%.
Is anyone else seeing this? Capture One Pro 8.3.3. Thanks!

Yepp. I remember its never worked since beginning 4.0 C1 1 -
Yes, me too.
2% really makes a significant difference, but 1% is the same as 0%.
They are in fact absolutely identical. When exporting both to PS and subtracting one from the other, nothing's left.

Using Windows 7 - when I first checked this I saw the same results (I think). Nothing at 1, obvious change at 2.
However when I went back to the same image after checking others changes at 1% became evident.
I have no explanation for that other than once the image has been taken up to 2% going back to 1% seems to register a change (compared to 0% and 2%) fairly consistently no matter whether reducing from 2% or increasing from 0%. The first adjustment, however, can seem a little slow to be applied.
I'm wondering if perhaps the calculation mechanism needs a full 1 unit increment to kick off the calculation but the slider graphic resolution reports 1% when in fact the system only sees, say, 0.9%.
A ticket seems to be the best route for this one but there may be a work around to be found in the meantime.
HTH.

Using Mac OS X 10.10 and 10.11, 1% is 0%. I can go 0% to 1%, 2% to 1%, change images when having set 1%, and restart the MBP. 1% = 0%. Always.
I selected 'Generic pincussion distortion' as lens profile, just to make it more visible. My recent shots show very low pincussion, and the correction percentage seems lens profile related.
I will file a support ticket, too. And I think I will ask for an extra digit for more accuracy.

Hans,
I think the problem in the original post was only about the Generic Pincushion adjustment. Working with the lens profile may be treated somewhat differently I would guess.
In theory there should be little need to adjust the adjustment, if you see what I mean. In some cases there may be no adjustment to adjust.

Hi Grant,
Yep, I see what you mean. 😊
The lens profiles PO provides are excellent, by the way. Surely for the Canon lenses I have.

Phase One have confirmed the issue and said it's being worked on.
Sounds like the fix might be a while though.0 -
