Losing my work on a photo Capture One 12
Any explanation ? 🤓

Are you working in a catalog or a session? Are you saying that if you go back to the file you had edited, all the sliders are at zero, there is no crop, etc, etc? And did the exported image have adjustments applied to it - exposure changed, contrast increased, cropped, that kind of thing?

I dont get it. I work on a photo. Export it. Everything is fine. I close Capture One 12.1. When I open it again all the work I have done is lost. I'm with an none edited pick !
Any explanation ? 🤓
I just recently have this happen to me. My work was in a variant which I was trying after reading some posts about the advantages.
I haven't said anything as I have been too busy to try some tests and be sure it wasn't me.
I was using a catalog. The base photo had nothing remaining. The variant was gone.
I hope to test more soon.

It could be that the original and the additional variant are stacked now and given that the original variant is the primary it would be the one you see if you click on the stack. Is there a little square icon in the upper left corner of the image in the browser window? If I recall correctly you can click on that to show all the variants and then you can view the other variant you edited again. 0 -

No stacking; no variants for this shot.
I may try it again later today.0 -
Has the OP left the conversation?

Well, I just went back to the same photo and edited it again roughly as I did before.
I created a variant, made some layers with adjustments, output it as a tiff, and closed CO.
When I opened CO again, the original and the variant were both present, and the variant retained the edits.
I can't tell you what happened the first time, but there was probably pilot error involved.0 -
I also lost the work from yesterday by mistakenly hitting the reset adjustments shortcut.
The Undo button did not do what it was supposed to do ☹️
Yesterday I had to restart CO a few times because it started to act very unpredictable while I was editing masks.
I will see if I still have the previous version of CO and will go back to it.

This is happening to me right now- not every single time, but often.
Here's the workflow: My client will make her 5 star picks, then go back to narrow down using greens and yellows. I draw the crops the way she wants them, apply my final color correction and wait for final approval to process TIFFs.
When I go back to make small tweaks and/or process the files, the files all have no stars and no color tags and no crops and they've all reverted back to the original color balance. Incredibly frustrating.
I'm on 12 now, and didn't want to upgrade yet just in case there were issues (since until now, 12 had been solid for me.)
I suppose I'll try upgrading to the latest version and hope for the best.
