The upcoming Photokina exhibition in Cologne, Germany, will bring quit a few new cameras to the market as usual. In general, when a type of camera is already supported by Capture One, its successor will be supported as well. In addition, the Canon S90/S95 is a twin to the PowerShot G11/12 respectively, and the G-series has been supported way back already.

Now it will take some time before Phase One gets their hands on production models of all the new types and release an update (or perhaps upgrade) to support them. Fingers crossed.

    well, that sounds ok,
but with my 5.2 the s95 .r2 is not being recognized... it was also not working with 5.12

    any hints?

Release notes always tell you which models are supported (Help menu).

your post before suggests the s95 is supported because it is similar to the s90 and the g-series.
so either i got you wrong or the s95 is not so similar...

Sorry for the confusion. You probably interpreted "similar" as "already supported" while I meant same productline. However, I noted that it "will be supported as well" pointing into the future; in general a supported camera's update can be expected to be supported in the future. In addition "now it will take some time before Phase One gets their hands on production models..."-line should fill in the gap as well.

The smallest change in a camera's properties, even a name perhaps, requires a process of profiling and release in a future update before it is supported in software. Even Canon has to update its software for it. CO 5.2 was released 14 Sep 10, to early for the new wave of cameras to be included.

Keep your fingers crossed, make many beautiful raw images and upcoming long autumn/winter evenings will be well spend when an update comes along. 😉
