Media Pro works great on El Capitan. After upgrading to El Capitan, I uninstalled Media Pro and re installed Media Pro, and all is well.

Thanks for the report. Did you experience problems before the uninstall/reinstall?

I normally wait for a couple "dot" releases of OS X but I've read that El Capitan is better than Yosemite so I might jump in sooner than usual.

In my humble opinion, Media Pro handles photo cataloging, key wording, and other catalog functions better than any other software I have used on PC or Mac.

I used Media Pro for many year before Microsoft bought it and later it went o Phase One.
I would like to see some updates and a seamless integration in Capture One 8 or alternatively add the DAM features directly in Capture One 8. At the moment the catalog management features of CO are good enough for me (only performance could be better).

I also used iView and Expression Media for many years before Phase One took over. I do not use Capture One. Integration between Media Pro and Capture One would be fine if by integration we mean "work well together" (not absorption into CO), such that Media Pro is also maintained as a standalone DAM. Of course, with the demise of Nikon Capture NX2 I will eventually have to choose another raw editor, and perhaps some day that editor will be CO, but I would prefer that my DAM be "editor agnostic."

I’m trying out MPro prior to buying. Welcome screen offers to import iPhoto library, but not Photos. My MPro trial version is 1.5.0.114. Is a newer trial version available that imports Photos so I can check out MPro’s organization features before buying?

You have the most recent version.

My advice: Ignore the welcome screen prompt to import an iPhoto library and just create a new (empty) Media Pro catalog from scratch. Then import the folder that contains your images (File > Import Items > From Files/Folders...). Or drag the folder onto the interface where it says "Drop media files, folders, or disks here."

I have Media Pro 1.5 and Capture One Pro 8.3.4 running on a OS X.11.1 (El Capitan). Capture One works perfectly but there is no longer any synchronisation between C1 and Media Pro. I'm living with the inability of Media Pro to get C1 to open a specific image as a Helper Application, but now Media Pro does not update an image when Image Rebuild is selected after changes have been made to the image in C1. I've checked my Sidecar XMP preferences in both programmes and both are on fully synced, so I am a t a loss to know if I have missed something or it is in fact the software. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I see you have Expression Media 2 in your arsenal. Can you let me know how it works in El Capitan?

    Many thanks

I haven't upgraded to El Capitan yet. But I probably won't be using EM any longer now that I have Media Pro (due to new cameras not supported by EM). You could post your question in the Expression Media section of this forum (so as not to have two conversations in this thread).

Thank you, but neither idea works: MP doesn’t recognize Photos icon or Photos folders. How is it that other users having no trouble with MP & El Capitan??

You might be misunderstanding the process. You should import the folder containing your original images -- not the Photos library. Do you know where your original images are located on your computer (before you imported them into Photos)? That's the folder you should be importing. Reminder: my advice was that you start from scratch with Media Pro (as if you had never used Photos before).

MP is a very old DAM developed Program... and
Phase One don't like it more and dont like to support it .
i am very sad about that, maybe they want to intigrade it inside C1 9 😁

I use Media Pro 1.5 running on a OS X.11.1. When I open a Media Pro File with more than 100‘000 Photos from a FAT32 disk the navigation is very slow for more than 5 minutes. During this time it is not possible to import photos. After the re installation, the Media Pro works properly only by the first launch.

in the finder: select the photos library and hold down the control key: select show package contents: the masters folder is what you drag into Expression Media (and likely also into Media Pro.) Just make a catalog of that folder as per normal.

The release notes for Media Pro 1.5 says that rendering of adjustments is only supported up to Capture one 8.1.1. In 8.2 and more recent versions, there has been changes in Capture One that means Media Pro cant render adjustments on those files.
    Check the documentation here https://www.phaseone.com/en/Download/Do ... a-Pro.aspx
