More problems with Variants

Hi,

I'm seeing a few issues with Variants. In addition to the order preservation (separate thread) there's also an issue with deleting Variants:

1. If pressing Backspace (Delete button) on the keyboard when a Variant is selected it is deleted without going through Trash. It's gone with no confirmation dialog.

2. If pressing Backspace (Delete button) on the keyboard when a closed set of Variants is selected, the last Variant in the set is deleted without going through Trash. It's gone with no confirmation dialog.

Is this behavior normal? Again, I'm on 7.1.2 with OSX 10.8.4. I'm seeing so many issues with Catalog and Variants that I'm afraid I'll loose files or adjusted images. Either something is very wrong with my configuration or the software is still buggy.

This is the normal operation of the software as it always has been.
As variants are not the original RAW, and the "undo" option will restore them, there is not the same cautionary dialogue associated with deleting them.

Thanks for the clarification. But is point 2 above also intended, i.e. that pressing backspace on a closed set of variants will delete the last Variant in the set only, and thus not the one that's shown?

A slight correction to the behavior in point 2 above. If a set of closed variants is deleted by pressing Backspace they both dissapear as if they both gets deleted. If in Album view, one Variant remains in "All Images" view under "Catalog Collections". If in "All Images" view, they both disappear from the Catalog Collection and one Variant only reappears after relaunching the application.
