How to reset media path | same filename two directories
I moved a catalog from a Mac to a PC. It worked OK,
except for about 500 images where the media file can't be found.
The affected images all share the same filename but in different directories:
E:\Foo\2014\IMG_4096.jpg
E:\Foo\2012\IMG_4096.jpg
I've identified the proper file on disk for the missing items, but "reset paths" appears to have no result.
How can I reconnect the catalog to the on disk files? Is this related to the repeated file name?

Here's MediaPro suggesting the wrong image. But even if I direct it to the correct image, nothing gets fixed in the catalog.
MediaPro support did respond on this issue, but with responses that were not helpful or insightful:

Note the blank "name" in the dialog. The IMG_6023.JPG is shown in the thumbnail view, but the filename is blank in the dialog. It matches an older file by the name of IMG_6023.JPG (Nikon cameras wrap from IMG_9999.JPG to IMG_0000.JPG after 10,000 images).0 -
After you did/ tried the path reset, did you also try a rebuild? 0 -

Ok, I'll try that.
You mean "Actions->Rebuild Item"?
Hold on...
just a sec...
got it...
Made no difference. The "original media file is not found" message still appears.
