styles questions

Hi - I find a lag between highlighting a style & having it show in the browser, especially user styles. Is this normal or just a slow computer?
It's supposed to stack styles but it shows the previous style overrided...am I missing something?
I wd love to apply styles to local adjustment layers - do you think this will ever be added? Thanks.
