iPad and Capture One
Hi
As I now own both Nikon D300 and D800, the amount of kit I am carrying (plus laptop) is getting to much. I am thinking In an effort to lighten load purchasing an iPad might be the way to go. This I would like to use with Capture One and possibly being able to work tethered is this possible and practical.
Many thanks

First, there is no Capture One for iPad and no tethering.
You could consider a MacBook Air as a lightweight notebook if you need tethering to Capture One. Without tethering, an iPad for importing and viewing is a potential alternative but you are limited to the 64 GB storage maximum.
I have done some experiments with using an iPad while traveling a while ago. What I recall is that you can shoot jpeg (low res) + raw, and import both throughout the camera kit (add-on for iPad). You can view the jpeg on the iPad.
Once back home, you can copy both jpeg+raw files to your computer.0 -

Some mis information was responsible for my question. Your answers and further reading have shown me that the set up I envisaged using the Capture Pilot app is not possible as it is used in conjunction with an iPad and another laptop/computer.
I already have a wireless transmitter and the Nikon Camera control software so it makes sense to stay PC.
I think I will need to look for a smaller laptop to replace my old 17in heavy Dell. One of the reasons for the iPad was the superior screen that it has.
Many thanks for your guidance
