Who's running C1 12 with AMD CPU?
I'm currently building a new PC for my image editing needs and I stumbled across that part of the version 12 release notes that says "Intel CPU with 4 cores or better".
Is there any technical reason for that? Cause otherwise I'd go for a Ryzen (probably the 5).
So I'm also interested in your experiences if anyone out there uses Capture One 12 with the Ryzen 5 or 7 CPU. How does it perform?
Cheers & thanks in advance!
Jochen

I do as well with an AMD Pro graphics card.
Haven't had any issues whatsoever.
/edit: I'm on a Ryzen 7 1800x CPU and the performance is a fast as it can be.0 -
Running Ryzen R7 1700. But during the work with C1 my CPU also works for scientific research (Boinc, WCR) with some cores (6 Cores). Never hat any issues. Fast enough (but I also use a AMD Vega 56). 0 -
I built a new system in September, replacing an Intel i7-3770K from 2012. I'm using a Ryzen 2700x 8 core, 32GB ram, and a Nvidia 1060 6GB GPU. My OS and Apps are on a NVMe drive, and my scratch disk is a 2nd NVMe drive. I'm using 2 monitors, a 24" 1080P, and a 27" 4K. I process images from a 7360 x 4912 (36.2 MB) sensor.
Frankly, this is overkill for C1. I had no problems with my old Intel 3770K with image processing. Unless an app takes advantage of multiple cores, what use are they?
My new system was constructed for video processing. My Davinci Resolve 15 renders are processing in about 1/4 the time as my old system.0 -
That sounds very good to me. Thanks for sharing your experience guys!
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Very pleased with V12 performance on my system 😊0 -
I have used C1 on an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 & Radeon RX580 discrete GPU earlier. Had some stability issues in 2017 with Ryzen platform on Windows 10, but was fixed in 2018 with driver updates.
Now using it on AMD Ryzen 5 2400G & integrated Vega 11 Graphics card. Working well enough for editing photographs. Not a big drop in performance. Takes slightly longer to export maybe, but manageable.0
