Transparent watermark image edges are jagged

When I create an image in PhotoShop or Illustrator and export it as a transparent png and bring it into CO it has jagged edges. When I move it around with the hand tool it looks great but as soon as I let it go the edges are all jagged. Is there a best method of creating a transparent image to use as a watermark in CO.
