Thanks Ralph. Are you using 6.4.2 also?

I'm on 10.8.2, but with C1 6.4.4 (build 60680). No problems encountered, all running well.

I know you weren't checking on 6.4.4., but i thought to mention it anyhow in this thread.

    HI HCS,
are you tethering Canon MK 2 or MK 3?

10.7.5 as we all know doesn't connect either camera.

    Thanks

No, sorry, Nikon boy here. Also, i'm not tethering to C1. Can't get live view to work. I went the SmartShooter way for tethering.

I have a Canon 5D mk 2 with Capture 6.4.4 and Mac OS 10.8.1. I cannot seem to get my camera to be recognized when tethered... Is this a known issue? If so who is the issue with ... Canon, Phase One or Apple?

This has been already discussed in various threads. To make long story short, Canon SDK (used for tethering) doesn't support Mountain Lion. Support should hopefully come in October.
Downgrade to 6.4.2 and it should work because it uses the old SDK which apparently works in Mountain Lion.

As I try to integrate the new retina MBP into my every day shooting system the current state of flux is daunting. I came across a strange set of circumstances the other day I thought I would share. I'm running 10.8.2, and 6.4.2, I shoot with a 5DII and an old 5D. I know I should be shunned for hanging on to outdated equipment, but I left 3.7 kicking and screaming too. I was actually able to tether the old 5D to this set-up by first connecting the 5DII then simultaneously connecting the 5D. After choosing the 5D the 5DII disappeared, but the 5D continued to work perfectly! I wont profess to understand any of it, but I thought it might add insight to those who do.
I sure hope the new Canon SDK takes into account those of us using a variety of cameras on a single platform.

    Thanks for sharing.

Be prepared that a newer version of CO6, after 6.4.2, which uses a newer SDK, might perhaps not support your original 5D model. Officially, the version used in any CO6 up to 6.4.2, does not support it anymore, but you managed it to get it done with a workaround which is quite original in my book. Maybe that workaround will work in the future too, but be prepared.

I have 6.4.2 and 10.7.5 with 5Dmark2 and seems to be working for me. Been using Aperture to tether for first gen 5D on 10.7 and 10.8, but I definitely want to try that workaround!
