    Hi Benny,
CO4 does not support tethered operation. It is the LE version and CO4 Pro is due to arrive in 2008.
CO3 (either LE or Pro) however is not (officially) supported on OS X 10.5 (Leopard). A quick look at the CO3 forum here revealed a workaround for the installer quitting in Leopard, from Phase One's knowledge base:

Just so I'm clear: Does CO4 Pro work with OS 10.5.x or is it just the LE that doesn't work?

    Hi DD,
Neither of the two (or I misread your post). CO4 (which is an LE version without LE in the name) works on OS X 10.5.x.
CO4 Pro does not yet exist but is announced and to be released in 2008 and based on the current CO4. Therefore, you can be sure that the future CO4 Pro will work on OS X 10.5.x.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Paul,
I wasn’t sure since I’m new to the M8 and workflow. I suppose iPhoto and Aperture is the way to go for now.
    Regards, 😕

    Hi -
As Paul posted before: Leopard (although unsupported )can be used with Capture One.
Please read the following and all article links on Capture One and Leopard.
You cannot tether with our current LE 3.7.x and 4.0 . This is a PRO feature.

The software that came with your M8 was a LE version.
Use CO4 there is no reason why you shouldn't.
In either case the tethered support with the M8 is provided by the Leica software.
