nef processing, getting started
Ok i'm probably going to embarrass myself with this question
I've been using phase one with medium format backs for about 8 years- no problem
i now need to shoot 35mm I download the nef files from my Nikon d2x into phase one 5, but then can't get them to
do anything, zip, nothing, white balance, crop, process, nothing, none of the sliders work, all i can do is browse through the shots
( i process them in photoshop, but now need to shoot tethered)
Tell me what i'm doing wrong, please
also i plug the camera into my mac and nothing, it just says "no camera connected"
I'm sure i'm just doing one stupid thing
any clues?
I bow to your superior knowledge in advance

Are you using the Pro version of C1 5? It's the only version that will deal with 35mm files. DB or regular Capture One won't do.

Michael,
Capture One 5 comes in 3 flavors, regular, Pro and DB in a single download. Because you have a PO back, you might be running CO5 in DB mode. It will not process DSLR files. You need a Pro or regular version.
Next, DB won't tether DSLRs. You need Pro for that. But with the D2X you are in for the next surprise: not supported (Nikon stopped support in 3rd party software). However, I recollect a description of a work around here.
To summarize, you need CO 5.x Pro plus a fix for tethering.0 -

Can someone please post where we can get this 'fix' for shooting tethered with a D2x? Also, I'd like to use the 'live view' feature with my Nikon D300 whilst shooting tethered, but it's not supported on 5.1.1. Is there going to be an upgrade in the near future as I know a couple of photographers who would be interested in purchasing CO Pro if this is the case as their Nikon software, (how should I say this), is less than perfect.
Thanks
ps. (I'm now getting use to using CO5 Pro with my Hasselblad/P20 back system. It has taken a while but I'm certainly more confident. Still liked 3.7 though, all it needed was a black background!0 -

Sometimes I think the forum's search feature is a bit underrated. Anyhow, looking for "d2x" showed in a few seconds:
