Recipes

I am using CaptureOne 6.3.1

When I updated to this version I lost the recipes that normally reside in the ‘Process Recipes’ tab.

However I had them backed up and copied them back into the location:
/Library/Application Support/Capture One/Recipes

When I open Capture one none of the recipes appear??

Can you assist me on this please.

    I have seen this issue before, but do not recall the cause or solution (it was after an update too). I would start with deleting the preferences and the default session file (Capture One.col50) and start CO6 again.

    Thanks but problem continues.

    Perhaps a few more questions might lead me to a solution:

    1. Where do the CaptureOne files go to normally?
    2. Is there a manual way of getting the .xml recipe files from the ~/Library ..../Recipes folder into the Process Recipes tab in the application itself.

    A 1. Do not understand what type of Capture One files you have in mind
    A 2. No.

    Q: from which version did you update/upgrade when the problem occurred? Where the recipes in place when this happened?
    Q: have you done a repair permissions recently; if not, I strongly recommend the procedure

    1.Think I had system files in mind but ..... I do now see that the recipe files & others reside
    In the folder Mac HD/Library/Application Support/CaptureOne. The C1 folder
    containing the recipes folder was lost when I upgraded from Version 6.3.0 to 6.3.1.
    I upgraded to 6.3.2 yesterday. I then recovered the previously installed capture folder from a backup
    & manually placed it in the 'Applications Support' folder. Nothing appears however in 'Output' tab when I open
    CaptureOne.

    2. Yes, I did that to-day but no joy.


    Any other ideas?

    Unless you made a typo, this is the wrong folder. You should look in the Application Support folder within your user's home folder, not the Mac HD root folder. You recipes are stored in:

    <user folder>/Library/Application Support/Capture One/Recipes

    Create a new recipe from within Capture One and you'll find it there.

    Yes that is the problem. I do remember in the past there was an Application Support folder within my user home folder.

    It is not there anymore. The only "Library folder" on my computer is under the MacHD folder & of course you cannot copy
    that folder into the user's folder. ????



    I'm stumped Im afraid.


    Thanks for your kind assistance .... I cannot see a way forward on this one.

    Ahhh, light bulb is flashing, meaning a solution is close..!

    I assume you use OS X Lion. Apple decided to make the user's Library folder hidden by default. To open it from Finder, open the Go menu and press the Alt/Option key. You will see the Library folder show up in the list. Select it.

    There might be a shortcut key and there is also a Terminal command to unhide it permanently for your user account.

    Well what do you know. That's it ok.
    Brillo .... now they are all back working.

    By the way they were all there by default when I originally purchased the programme some years ago!
