IPTC Editor ... driving me crazy
Hello,
I'm using Capture One Pro 3.7.4 on my Mac (OS X 10.4.6). I'm trying to add keywords to my images via the IPTC Editor. What I'm finding is that keywords I add to one image sometimes appear on another. Even when I check again to make sure just one image is selected, a keyword can end up getting applied to the wrong image. It's very frustrating. Is there some sort of patch I have to apply to get this to work right, or am I just missing something obvious?

Pat,
I posted about a month ago with the same issue. Since the C1 IPTC Editor wasn't working correctly for me either, I thought I'd give Adobe Bridge a try. No luck with files in a session created in C1 v3.7.4, but if you revert back to v3.7.3, it works just fine. Hopefully you're not running a MacIntel machine - the non-UB version is slow under Rosetta.
There is a post in the "Lost EXIF data" thread that mentions v3.7.5 is about two weeks away. Hopefully this fixes the IPTC Editor as well.

Darren,
Thanks for posting, I was beginning to think that no one would reply. I just recently starting experimenting with the IPTC editor. In particular, I haven't tried it under v3.7.3, so I don't have that experience to compare against. Obviously, I'd rather upgrade to a functioning v3.7.5 than regress to v3.7.3. I do have a PowerPC Mac, so I wouldn't have to run it under the emulator.
Overall I've been happy with C1, but if this is an indication of how Phase One responds to problems, then I'd agree with you that perhaps it's time to take a look at Adobe Bridge.

Pat,
just so you know...
the way Phase One responds is by taking direct feedback from customers, working on issues together; and then implementing corrections or improvements to problems that they experience with Capture One.
This is why this issue has already been resolved.
Final 3.7.5 is still pending, but the Beta II is available via a Support Case.
If you'd like to give it a try, please create a Case at:
Support Site: http://support.phaseone.com
This has moved to a Beta II since the feedback from Intel/Mac customers has been very helpful to Developers and greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Hello,
There's a fix for the IPTC editor in v3.7.5, that's great news.
Overall I've been very happy with C1 Pro; that's in part why I was suprised and a bit disappointed to encounter the flakiness with the IPTC editor. For future reference, what is the recommended way to find out a problem is a known problem, and when a fix is planned?

Pat,
New Updates and Upgrades progress from Beta Version > Release Candidate > to Final Release
Input from Beta Testers helps in progression to RCs.
RC feedback from users comes to Forum Topic Index specifically for RCs
Final Release problems that squeak by all, we often hear from photographers directly in a Support Case where we duplicate the problem.
Sometimes we hear of a problem from a Hot Forum discussion from many customers too.
The best way... I would say is to Create a Support Case.
Tech Support will then attempt to duplicate the problem and if a Bug, it gets logged into R&D with the Case History between Support and Photographer. This information is very helpful to Developers.
Once logged in, a Bug List is available to Tech Support who can then inform other customers with same problem that it is known and suggest workarounds or solutions to the issue.
Cheers,
k c0
