CaptureOne or Photoshop?

I have the impression that the Levels and Curves tools in photoshop (CS 5.1) render better results in a TIFF file from RAW developed in C1 (6.3.4) -without touching the level and curves in C1- than using C1's level and curves and afterwards develop and open in photoshop.
However did not make any extensive testings. any experiences or impressions to this? appreciated.

  To the contrary. The main advantage of using Levels and Curve tool in CO6 over Photoshop is that you are still correcting RAW and maintain a continuous histogram once it is processed to a TIFF.
  Both tools are versatile in CO6 with both levels and output levels in the Levels tool and even the ability to correct R, G, and B channels separately (CO Pro/DB).
  
  And if you feel the need to take it a step further in Photoshop, go ahead, but I would set it in CO6 first.
  
  Note that auto adjust levels are closely if not exactly matching Photoshop's auto adjust.

  I guess it depends what you mean by "better", but I have to say that I don't hesitate to adjust Levels and Curves in Capture One before moving the resultant tiff to Photoshop.
  
  It makes sense to me to do as much "heavy lifting" processing on the Raw file, as Paul also suggests (even though tiff is also a lossless format), and I have no concerns about the quality of the result from Capture One.

  thank you. I understand it makes sense from a technical point of view as explained by Paul using the adjustments in the RAW file renders a better result than afterwards on the developed TIFF.
  However, I noticed recently some nasty color shifts in skin tones caused by (maybe too stong) curves adjustments.
  Will make my own comparisons soon.
  
  I also like to do as much as possible retouching within C1 and less in CS lately. in earlier times I did only white balancing and exposure corrections in C1 and all the other stuff in PS. But the workflow and tools variability has increased so much in recent C1 Pro versions that it actually makes sense to do as much as possible in C1. I do still most of the layers work in CS though. here the layer tool of C1 is still infantile IMO.

  I typically only use PS for sharpening, unless I'm going to do some layers stuff like background blur etc....I find the COP results are typically outstanding for the adjustments.
