Clarity/Structure compared to LR 8.3 Texture
Adobe just released LR 8.3 with a new "Texture" slider. The description for the single slider Texture appears to be very similar to what can be accomplished with the C1 Clarity/Structure sliders. Am I missing something?

Capture One has its own functionnalities and algorithms, Lightroom has its owns. A comparison is not really needed, IMHO. 0 -
Thank you. I am just curios as to a comparison regarding how each one works and what each one can accomplish. 0 -
I've only used Lr's texture tool briefly but at first glance I would say it's a mild version of their clarity, similar to C1's Structure tool but has more range. Another difference and seemingly the potential primary benefit of this tool is that it doesn't effect edges all that much. So it will for example give a sharpening or softening effect to skin, but not to eyes, eye brows, lips, nostrils, etc. Or in a landscape it will give a sharpening effect or softening effect to the clouds & ground but leave the horizon line alone for the most part.
So as the name implies it focus' on enhancing or softening textures more so than sharp edges as sharpening tends to do.[quote="tenmangu81" wrote:

Oh, yes, I agree when you are thinking about which software to adopt.0
