Are you working with a catalog or a session? In a session it does return you to the image you were on previously. I don't know about catalogs.

Hi, relatively new to Capture One. I find that, everytime I reopen Capture One, it takes me to a random folder within the last folder I was using, not the last one I was editing. This is a real pain, especially for folders with thousands of images -- I have then try to remember where I left off.

Anyway to have it open directly to last file edited?

    Thanks.

Out of interest, how are you closing the catalog/application?

Was you last action before closing an edit os a browse/search/something else?

Like Ian, I use sessions except for some experiments with catalogs now and then. I have not noticed an particular problem unless somethng has happened that cause the whole system to crash - in which case Windows is unlikely to have updated its "latest state" information for any programs in use at the time.

I usually backup my catalog when I'm exiting the program. No errors or crashes.

    Ah, OK.

Not being a Catalog user I don't normally bother with that step, just "close window" and skip the backup if I have been playing with an experimental catalog for some reason.

Maybe a regular catalog user or two can dive in and comment?

I have exactly the same issue. Running latest C1 version on a HP laptop. Most of the time it seems to "forget" what image I was working on last and just show a random picture in the same album when I open C1 the next time. I also use C1 on a Mac and it does not have the issue at all. In both cases, I close C1 by choosing File - Exit and accepting the backup if C1 suggests one
