Please talk me through restoring catalogue
Hello all
Well this afternoon C1 crashed big time, locked the MAC up completely and had to force quit everything which took ages to do.
I have 3 catalogues, cat 3 opened ok, cat 1 did after some time. Cat 2 has gone, cannot verify & repair, cannot restore.
I can see the backups in finder for cat 2 but I don't know how to restore back into C1. I use crashplan & TM for backups as well.
Please can someone kindly talk me through the steps. I am worried I have lost the adjustments for 10,000 pics.
I get this when I try to open cat 2
"Failed to connect with database
/Users/gill/Catalogue (2) May 2016/Catalogue 2.cocatalog/Catalogue 2.cocatalogdb
Database connection FAILED

The provided database is of an unknown type.
"
Thankyou.
Gill
p.s. Under the library in tools I can only select one catalogue instead of seeing them all also. I have to open the other catalogue by right clicking on the icon for C1.

Hi Gill,
The first thing to do is to quit C1, and then double click on your cat 2 backup. Capture One should open your cat 2 backup.

Hi Robert
That didn't work when I tried. I have just found on C1 site a guide for creating a copy and that 'appears' to have worked.
The only difference is, it named it catalogue 3 for the backup in finder. Not sure if I should re name it.
I am just having a look to see in cat 2 looks ok now I can see it again... !0 -
Did another re boot and all is back to normal, phew ! 😊 I can do without such excitement on a Sunday afternoon of where is the missing catalogue 😊 0
