Capture ONE LE for Mac OS X - serious bug
Hi, I've downloaded the trial version of Capture One LE for Mac OS X and found a serious bug that will prevent me from using this for the vast majority of my files.
The behavior is like this: if I open and adjust files in Nikon Capture 4.1 on windows (which re-saves them with large thumbnails) I am then unable to process these files in Capture One LE on Macintosh due to C1LE not properly decoding the RAW files.
Here's the screenshot:

This behavior affects thousands of my NEF files, basically all that have been touched up in Nikon Capture on Windows. All other programs (Bibble, Nikon Capture, Adobe Camera Raw) open and decode these files just fine, which leads me to believe this is a bug in Capture One.
I'd like to know if you're aware of the issue and are doing something about it. If you'd like me to provide the \"problem\" NEF files, I'm glad to help.

Hi
As far as i remember Nikon is actually writing in the NEF files making them unreadable in Capture One - Reset all settings in the Nikon software and you should be able to read them in Capture One.0 -
Flemming, I'll definitely try this with a few files, but it's not an option for my entire library. I can't just sit down and revert thousands of shots. So you guys are aware of the issue, how about fixing it? 😂 As I said, other converters work just fine with these NEFs. 0 -
It is not that simple to fix.
Nikon is ADDING info to the NEF file that is not according to the standard spec. of the NEF RAW file. Compared to what we do, we are never touching the RAW file, and then all changes in the file are beeing stored in a .work file. This way you can alway revert back to the RAW file. I NIKON's case - only the NIKON software can do that.0 -
Hi
Could you please either create a Support Case to us or make a link to a few of the Nikon RAW files, i have a few developers that very much will see if thay can do something about this problem.
Thanks.0 -
Here they are:

Two NEFs, that show up all purple in both C1/Win and C1/Mac, but work fine in ACR, Bibble and Nikon Capture.0 -
Good news......
Our developers just informed me that this is solved in the next maintaince release. 😂 😂0 -
That's not just good news, that's AWESOME news. You guys have removed my only remaining dependency on the PC - Nikon Capture. 😄
Hats off to Phase One. I'm impressed.0
