New user questions on C1 express
I started using C1 express only recently and have the following questions :-
1. Proxies - If I click on any new image folder it will start generating proxies even in the output folder. Can I set it
to only generate proxy in the selects folder only because it will slow down the machine if I am only
browsing my processed output.
2. Jpegs - After I process the raw file and convert into jpg, the image is not the same as I see it in C1 if I use windows
viewer to see it. So is C1 doing any conversion for jpg file automatically as in raw file and how can I process
the file so that others without C1 can see the jpg as I want it to in C1. And why is that all the processed jpg
file have a fix kevin value of 5000 ?
3. New folder - If I accidentally make a wrong new folder in the library tab there is no way I can delete it ?

1. Proxies
You can not set which folder CO6 will create proxies or not.
2. Jpegs
The Windows viewer does apply color management but assumes sRGB color space in your images. When you have selected a larger color space in your process recipe, the image might look dull and desaturated. This is a Windows problem but the workaround is to select sRGB in your process recipe instead of - for example - AdobeRGB.
About the 5000K white balance value: once processed (that is not raw), the WB value is not relevant anymore. A default of 5000K gives the widest range of adjustments on the WB scale.
3. Delete Folder
Oddly enough you can not delete a folder from the Library tool. A workaround is to right-click in the folder, select Show in Explorer, and delete it from there.0 -
Thank you for the reply Paul, that clears things up and it is encouraging for new user to receive such responsive feedback on some newbe questions. 0
