Data organisation workflow
When I import pictures onto my computer, I have a program running that automatically copy them into a folder hierarchy, rename them bases on their exif.
There is a folder per month (2016_05, 2016_04, etc...)
There is uploads several times per month.
My ideal workflow would consist of a software just showing the content of folders already on disk and let me edit them. No import needed, import the whole folder thats all.
Capture One has catalogs and sessions. Is one of them getting close to the ideal I am mentioning?

I use Downloader Pro to grab my RAW files [Year Mo JobName/RAW] and then Breezebrowser to cull.. I place the selected images into the route [Year Mo JobName]. I have a single session running in Capture One that I just point to a new job each time.. No need to import etc.

You can import images without copying them into the catalog (option store files = Current location).
