New user – CO7 and LR "integration" for first months
Hi everyone!
I'm using CO7 since last month and I find it good, specially for certain kind of photos. I'm coming from LR where I have a catalogue of approximately 55.000 photos (1 TB more or less). The files there are referenced in their original locations with a geographical hierarchy of folders (in example "Continent > Country > Region > Town"). Import process of new photos is handled by LR.
I'm thinking about the transition of the catalogue to CO7, using also the new feature that read some basic informations from LR catalogue (exposure, rating, metadata, etc.). Here my questions/needs:
First:
- I have tons of adjusted RAW in LR and I want to preserve these developments = it means I need to continue use LR for old files.
OR
- I export in TIFF the adjusted RAW (increasing a lot the disk space) and I forget LR
Second:
- Since I am not 100% sure about the full transition I would like to use both. Should I use same referenced files pointed by both catalogues (CO and LR) ? This force me to continuos "syncing" of both catalogue for delete photos, moved photos, etc. ?Sessions are not an option since I work with folders in continuos development.
- In theory the best solution would be to use CO during this period as Adobe Bridge... just to explore folders (created and maintained by LR), edit certain file and export it to JPEG/TIFF/PSD and finish. Without sessions or catalogue and without adding folders/additional files to the archive structure. Is it possible? Media Pro could help for that?
Excuse me for long post, not perfect english and newbie questions!
Thanks and regards
Massimo
