CO has the same issues with the D850, see

    and

So far it is also not possible to shoot tethered with the D850 and simultaneously save to either of the memory cards. However with the D850 Nikon is supporting this.

Thanks but I am not trying to save to card and computer -- just the computer. The issue is that the live view on the computer screen is too low of a resolution to use to focus. I often have a camera mounted overhead the set and focus using the software controls. No problem with any other Nikons -- just the D850. I am wondering if the upgrade addressed this issue.

Would be interesting to know whether CO 11.01 solves the issues with the D850 not being properly supported.
Unfortunately it is not possible to try CO11 again without buying it.

Hopefully the next update will fix it ... support said it would be addressed with the update. I have C 11 and it did not address the issue. Unfortunate because I have a D850 that I cannot use much of the time since I rely heavily on live view for styling and focus.

Good luck with that. I have been asking them to fix a problem with Panasonic camera support now, for over two years. I have just raised the 4th ticket on this issue. Every time the responder says, "Oh that's a problem, we'll fix that", the case is closed and it doesn't get fixed.

Unfortunately that happens frequently. Even worse something that gets finally fixed is broken in the next release again.

With the D850 it seems that Phase One might be using the wrong Nikon lib. or have based the support on their D810/D800 implementation. This would explain all the things that don't work as well as the unsupported features. I have submitted the third support case. What bothers me even more is that I have also submitted these issues since the very first beta test.

Learned from the support that none of the issues with the D850 support have been fixed in 11.01. So D850 unless you don't care about file size, bit depth and zoom in live view the D850 is still not really usable in tethered mode.

11.0.1 is more like the first beta. Take a look at the release notes 😉
