How to start over

I feel that since MP has MS DNA, it is acting like a windows program on my iMac. I worked with windows for many years, since the first windows. The old way of solving a recurring software issue with a third party program was to reformat and reinstall. Absolutely brutal.

I think I will need to do a fresh install of MP to clear out whatever is ailing MP and not allowing me to work for more than 30 minutes on a catalog of 2756 RAW files.

I am tired of being locked out of my catalog by my supposed doppelganger, according to MP.

I am a single user, on one machine (imac 27 i5 2.66, 16GB, 1TB, 1TB Time Capsule and a second 27 Cinema Display. No networked or external drive to work from. I am the only user of this machine and catalog. I amy end up a user of Heroin if MP keeps crashing.

I need a plan to start over, anybody have one? I just want to work, not trouble shoot more than I work.

Any insight?
