Gradient

I do not see Gradient as an option in the local adjustments menu. I see F,I, C, Adj., Clone and Heal.
I am working with jpegs. Is that the reason?

  After you create the Adjustment Layer select 'G' or select Gradient Mask by right-clicking on the Brush icon below the LOCAL ADJUSTMENTS layers list.
