    TLM,

5D is supported in Final Release of 3.7.3 so confirm version installed on machine.

Take 5D RAW image files only into new Session of Capture One and they will indeed build Thumbnails and Previews.
To eliminate variables, use default location of:
    C:\\Program Files\\Phase One\\Capture One PRO\\Captures\\Your Session folders

Thanks for the quick reply but there's a misunderstanding.

    I can't see ANY RAW files. I don't have the 5D yet.

I just want to get the newer version running with my 1DsMkII files.

When you say \"new sesions\" and \"Your sessions folders\" , what do you mean? Should I actually call it: \"Your sessions folders\"?

Why can't I just point the program to a folder with RAW files and see them?
I can do that with 3.7.1.

Don't mean to be obtuse, but I had no problems before and don't know what I'm doing incorrectly. With the the earlier version, I put the card reader, C-1 boots up and the files to to the folder allocated to them. In the new one, I see how to point to a folder where RAWS exits, but it doesn't \"see\"them.

    Tom,

Take RAW images only with your MkII camera, download from CF card directly into Capture One without using any other software.
You can create and Name the folder anything you want, just have it on Local Disk C: at the default location.
Be sure you have Read&Write access to this location. Browse to this location and select RAW image folder.

If image files don't appear choices are to:
    1) Create a Support Case and upload a RAW file from your camera with the Case.
    Support Website: http://support.phaseone.com

    2) Do a Complete Uninstall of all Phase One following Knowledge Base article # 1665
    http://support.phaseone.com/KB/Home/Sea ... nguageID=1

Download Capture One version 3.7.3 from web site and do a clean install.
    http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Downloads/COforWIN.aspx

Attempt to load images form 1DS Mk II and let us know how this goes.

    Sincerely,
    k c

I uninstalled the 3.7.3 and reinstalled, but no luck. It still does not see any RAW files.
I will upload a RAW file from the 1DsMkII. Strange how all is well with 3.7.1 but not with the new version.
    Tom
PS:Thanks for the prompt response. Hopefully this can be straightened out as I very much like the program, but am hesitant to pay several hundred dollars before I know the new version is working.

    Tom,

Rest assured that the version 3.7.3 is most certainly working, and working well. Otherwise, we would be inundated with support problems since its release in December, and this is just not happening.

Once a Case is created, we will begin the 20 Questions of picking apart your workflow, system profile and system set-up.
Please provide as much details in your Support Case as possible... no detail too small when trying to figure out a problem such as this.

    Thanks,
    k c

I just downloaded capture one db trial.

When I use the browser pointed at my pictures folder and choose a raw file of photos I get This collections is empty.

My images are from a canon 20d

Please help. I get so frustrated with the time wasted attempting to use something new.

    Thanks,

    David

    David,

The DB version of Capture One is specifically used with Phase One Digital Back RAW files.

DSLR cameras are supported with the LE and PRO versions.
LE = 15 Day Trial and PRO = 30 Day Trial

Both versions can be downloaded at website where you got the DB,
    www.phaseone.com

Don't give up so fast, you'll find the workflow of Capture One to be most efficient and the color and image quality results with your 20D RAWs to be nothing short of Superb !

    Cheers,
    k c
