Canon 5D and Capture One 5.1 - camera won't tether
I haven't used Capture One for a while and I'm hoping that someone on this board can help me troubleshoot.
I've got a Canon 5d wanting to tether to my Macbook Pro via USB and it doesn't show a connection in Capture One 5.1 (trial version). I couldn't get it to tether on Capture One version 4 either.
The camera is set to PC connect not Print /PTP.
I've tried shutting down, restarting, replugging in every configuration and it won't go. It's not the cable either, I've swapped it twice.
This is crucial for me to tether because the camera is floating above the subject from 6 ft above.
Help!

Also worth noting that the PRO version needs to be used as the regular Capture One 5 cannot tether at all.0 -

An addition to Drew's comment: The user's remarks disclose the existence of a connection status, which is non-existent in the regular edition. In DB however, this also exist. Hence, I suggest the OP to check you did not accidently enter the DB mode, which is not uncommon with users run a CO trial.0 -
I recently installed v5.1 (Macbook Pro OS 10.5.😎 and am having the same issue. My software is activated and it's PRO. My 5D connects no prob with v3.7.9 using the same USB. I've dumped the pref+cache, restarted. Anything else? Thanks! 0 -

Check the firmware in the camera. The newer software supports the newer Canon SDK, the newer Canon SDK supports the newer software, etc, etc, etc.0 -
This problem is getting really frustrating. I see this discussion took place a few months ago, but I don't think there has been a solution yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I have Snow leopard 10.6.4 and just upgraded to the latest version of Capture One 5.2.1. It works just fine on my old MacBook, but does not connect to my new Mac Book Pro. Same operating system, same version of Capture One and the camera is not accepted? Where am I going wrong? I am using Canon 5D and it is set on connecting to PC, it has the latest firmware upgrade 1.1.1 I don't see what else I can do to make this work. Anyone able to help?0 -

I think this may be the issue. Try both USB ports. The one farthest from the Power Source has been reported (and proven in my own tests) to drop connection due to power flux.0 -
The latest canon 5D firmware is 2.0.8 also try taking the CF card out.
