All folders in catalog gone?

Hello! Working on my father's laptop, so not exactly sure what happened here. Wondering if anyone know how to relink all my folders? You see, I had thousands of folders in my catalog (Picture, then sorted by years, then months) and when I opened C1 today, they're all gone. my 13,098 pictures seems to be still on hard drive and also inside the catalog...

  Solution for those who will encounter this issue in the future: you are not alone. Crawling the internet will bring you to many other users who had the same issue. The way to restore my folders (and save all your edits) is to create a new catalog and importing the old catalog inside the new one. Process took about 3 hours.

  Did you run the Verificiation program at any point?
  
  If so what result did that give?

  I actually had a corrupted catalog due to a crashed computer. Used a backup of the catalog but still had to run the validate process on it several times before getting it to a stable position.
  
  Wish I had seen the comment about trying to import the bad catalog into a new catalog. I would have liked to have tried that.
