CO7 Slow Application Start

Received an advertising email this morning, which makes me laugh. A a guy named Todd Anthony says" The fact that Capture One pro 7 works without problems means you do not have to worry to move from another raw converter".

Dear Todd!!!

I am using Capture One pro 7 for years on several win laptops and I got used now to several problems not resolved by the programm deverlopers!

Using an acer ASPIRE 5755G, Win 7, NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 630M 2GB, i7 2670QM CPU, 18GB RAM, 1TB HD

Why does Capture One pro 7 need 14 seconds to start an
CS6 needs 8 seconds,
Adobe Camera Raw 5 seconds only?

Lots of things can effect startup speed.
The main one is the Session or Catalog you are trying to open by default. If that is located on a separate drive or is quite large, 14 seconds is not out of the question for full startup.

Just look for BIG XMP files. Due to some soft bug the combination C1 and MP can produce some HUGE XMP files. Like 500 MB!!! Delete them and C1 will start in a few seconds...
