Can't open Ricoh GXR raw files.
I have downloaded some files from the GXR A12 50mm module, but I cannot open them in Capture One 6. These are DNG format, which is all that the A12 produces, but C1's documentation says that v.6 supports the A12 module. All of my other raw converters can open the files.
Any ideas on this?

I tried with a GXR A12 18mm (28mm eq.) module DNG file and it opened fine in CO 6.2.1.
Suggestion: open a support case and upload a DNG file with it.0 -

Paul,
I think that the problem might be related to the fact that the file that I downloaded was from a pre-release camera that was posted on dpreview. I am now looking for some raw files from a post-release camera.

Paul,
Thanks for the link. Those files open perfectly in C1-6. The samples are not what I would consider great photographs, but they do show what an awesome little camera the GXR is. I would say that its IQ can match that of any APS-C camera on the market. I'm puzzled by why it has not caught on with the enthusiast crowd. Maybe it's a little too weird for most people.

IQ looked nice indeed. I think too its to much non-standard. A niche product.0 -

Yes, it is a niche product, but a very innovative and high quality one. I have no idea if I will get a GXR for myself, but it does seem like an excellent complement to a dSLR--one that will give comparable quality in a very small package. Got to think outside the box sometimes. 😊
