How to retain printer settings during session and open fromt
1) My default printer is not the one I use to print images. OK, I accept that I will need to change the printer when I use C1P7 but I have to rest it for every image I print during that session.
If it can't be done with C1P7, could it please be added to the next version or, preferably, update?
2) Also, I loath the new catalog. I have got around it by using a session but I would like to view images using another application (even Win8 file manager!) and then use right click Open With to open an image with C1P7. C1P7 simply opens that directory but not the specific image. Possible to get around this?
I love c1p7 but the iView -derived catalog is a major problem, in my personal opinion.

Is there any limitation to your complete work activity (IE do you print other documents for other printers at the same time as you print images from C1) that would woould stop you taking a couple of seconds to swapping the default printer at the start and end of your image printing?
Seems like a quick and available way to save changing for every print if you are printing several images.

I had thought of that but other imaging programs "remember" your non-default printer settings for the session. If they can, why not C1?
Also could be a cause of familial tension if you are not the only one to use the PC ....0 -
Do the other programs used by the family remember which printer they last used? That might be an alternative approach if they do.
You don't have to use the catalogue feature. I like sessions so I have stayed with them and have not looked at the catalogue functionality so far.0 -
The catalog may be OK (if unwieldy) if you keep your original image files well away from any image files derived from them. If you save TIFFs, JPGs, etc from your RAW files and save them inside the directory structure containing the RAW files, you will break the catalog. 0
