How?
I'm finding the user interface not NEARLY as nice as the images it creates ... for example, things like "tagging" ... um, yes, your documentation says you CAN tag things ... but NEVER mentions what you then can DO with the tagged items.
And please, I do NOT have the time to sit and experiment for hours, I work for a living supervising my staff and studio ... and searching the knowledgebase I've found totally frustrating and useless, as I am only a literate photographer and businessman and not a completely lifeless computer geek. I would prefer your documentation actually be complete in and of itself so I could just sit here and QUICKLY learn how to use your marvelous tool.
Or be able to actually find an answer to basic questions.
One of MANY questions ... how can I open only a few files in a folder to work on? I'd rather not have to select and then physically move files to new folder and then open that in C1, just to delete those files and folders afterwards. It seems like that adds stupid and hard-drive snarling steps when with Bibble or ACR I can just send a few files to the program and not have to wait for it to load previews of a whole folder ... say 500 wedding files ... before I hunt through all 500 just to select the one or five I want to work with now.
I've tried adding C1 to the list of "open with" files in Bridge, and then selecting and sending a few to C1. But when C1 finally does open, I get the "Trial version has expired" screen, with a set of boxes to put my license into .. that are about two boxes short of holding my current licence and when I put in either the front part or the end part to fill, says not a valid licence.
If I open C1 by itself of course I do not get the "trial expiration" screen ... but can only open a whole damn folder at a time.
Help?

Neil,
The resources available in Video Tutorials, Guides, Knowledge Base and Tip&Tricks articles and this User Forum are quite helpful to many customers.
For the quickest answer from Technical Support, you must submit a Support Case from Support Site.
Re: Image Tagging:
Right click on a Thumbnail > Image Tagging > and you will see display of the choices of what can be done with tagged images.
Mac version has more tagging capabilities that we should see merge into 4.0
Re: working on fewer than full Session files
Choice is to Tag and Group Tagged to work on OR to use the Move To folder option.
1 - Create New Session tab > Collection pulldown > Assign as Move To
2 – if you want images to be within the Session, Using Browse – you can create a Subfolder with icon above FileTree.
This will create a New Session Tab and this can be assigned as the Move To folder
> Thumbnails can be sent to Move To Folder as a batch or one at a time using the Backspace key.
Re: Open Files with
This is not how Capture One works. Images must be loaded into a Session. YES, this will revert an activation to Trial Mode !
Hope this helps you out.
Sincerely,
K C0
