i'm new .i have 3 questions

hi
i tried capture one 5 last version today
and i'm impressed ,it's really great , i mean the pro version


i have 3 question

1) after the install of the program , windows xp pop up a windows "the software installed (capture 5) did not pass the test of windows logo,microsoft advises to stop the installation ???
it's the first time i see such window , i'm using the last version

2) is there a way to have a rules of third in the crop feature

3) i have a p4 3.6 single core with 4gb of ram ,2 seagate in raid , and a video card with 512mb ,windows xp pro sp3 32 bit
will be capture one optimazed for single core? i have a new laptop , and capture 5 runs better in my new laptop

    Hi, welcome to the forum. I am afraid I do not understand all questions but will try to answer.

    A1: please specify version of Windows (XP/Vista/7) and 32- or 64-bits. Do you use a beta version or Release Candidate (of Win7 for example?)

    A2: do not understand the question but I suspect you mean the crop ratio; you can make your own crop ratio

    A3: Capture One uses all processors and processor cores which are available to the operating system (Windows)

    1) i run Capture One 5.0.1 pro under xp sp3 32bit
    i guess the version is 5.0.1.33841 downloaded here http://xchange.phaseone.com/Content/Downloads/CO5.aspx
    after the install process , windows xp warned "the software installed (capture 5) did not pass the test of windows logo,microsoft advises to stop the installation "

    Regarding your first question I suggest to continue (Continua 😉)

    Regarding your third question, Capture One is not optimized for multiple cores/processors. It uses what is available. More is better of course. It should run a your computer as well, maybe not screamingly fast though. Note that when opening an image (folder of images) the first time, Capture One generates previews which may slow down your computer. After that is finished it should run better.

    I think what Mantra is referring to in #2 is the idea that during a crop, Capture One would somehow display an overlay in the crop area that shows where the rule-of-thirds lines would be in the newly cropped version.

    Alas, I do not think this feature exists in C1.

    BUT, as a feature - I totally second this. It would be really a cool way to modify the crop tool to add different overlays that could be shown while cropping: Like golden triangles and spirals, with all of their permutations (Spiral left/right, bottom/top).

    Or maybe allow a PNG as a crop area overlay so you can see what a copyright watermark/tag might look like in the cropped version.

    Anyway... hope this clarifies.

    The feature exists and user Kevin already provided the answer, I think (and I use it often myself).

    it's the installation of the process, i discovered today

    but Am i only one with a warning of xp?
