Tether issues C1 6.2.2/Lion/5DmkII
First off, I understand this may get filed in the category of "this is what you get for installing a new OS right away", so I'm aware that the mere fact I'm on Lion may be the issue, but I'm curious if anyone's had this issue even with Snow Leopard, perhaps.
Shooting a 5D mkII, tethered, to a new Thunderbolt-era i7 iMac, running Lion 10.7 and CaptureOne 6.2.2
Exposures just occasionally hang. The software doesn't crash, and it will work for stretches, but intermittetly frames seem to get "stuck in the cable" - the orange bar stops halfway and captures get lost. Often on a restart it will work again, for awhile, and then stall again.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found any solutions?

I have had a long history of tethering issues with the 5D Mark II. Lately I have had issues that are sporadic which for me is an improvement. Although I am not really sure why things run smoother. I did discover that if you check your system in the About this Mac and check USB you will notice that one of the ports is hooked up to the keyboard and a few other things. The other port has less. I have discovered at least on my Macbook pro 6,2 if I use the port closest to the power plug I seem to get better results.
I have hesitated upgrading to Lion.
After reading the posts I think I will still wait a while longer. I also believe that most of the issues come from the Canon software and how it relates to C1. This has been the issue in the past and I think this could be the root of the trouble. Every time Apple changes software Canon has to respond ( not always quickly) and the C1 needs to respond to them. Unfortunately it seems C1 cannot bypass Canon.
