Layers gone crazy in 12.1
Hi all!
The layers don't cover the full frame anymore! Version 12.1, using an nVidia GTX 750Ti graphics card, up to date drivers.
If I create a layer and use the fill command (or use the brush to fill near edges) the layer never goes to the edge of the picture. There is always an area (typically a band at the top and on the left of the picture) where the layer mask does not ever appear!
Also, if you use a brush to try and fill in the top/side of the frame you see the mask being rendered for a little while and then it disappears again.. very frustrating. I've opened a support case, but please let me know if you experience anything similar.
P.S. I've just found out that the "browser" is somehow related to this issue. If I hide the browser (Ctrl+B), then close CO, and open it again and create a new layer, then the layer works as expected. If I re-open the browser and create another layer then this never covers the full frame (leaves either a border on top or on top and right hand side in my case). Makes no difference if I have the browser on the right of the screen or on the bottom.

Anyone else noticed this? Am I really the only one?
I have seen a pretty much identical post in the Apple section.. can't believe no one has experienced it in Windows too0 -
I have not. Have you opened a support case about it? 0 -
I don't have this problem on my system - as Ian says open a support case 0 -
I have an open support case, they've been very active and supportive and it seems like it's a catalogue issue.
If I create a new catalogue from scratch the problem does not show on my system either. I don't knwo if I will need to "repair" my current catalogue or just chuck it in the bin!0 -
Just for the sake of completeness, in case someone else encounters the same issue... I've solved mine by using the "File-->Verify catalgue or session" function and the "repair" the database.
It was definitely a corrupted catalogue issue. Still something strange in the rendering of the mask overlay (the red transparent overlay) remains, but at least it does not affect the final applied mask, just the overlay rendering flickers around the borders whilst using the brush, but the final mask is now ok and not randomly pixelated as before.0 -

Why not try selecting all images and using the "export as a catalogue" function. This rewrites the catalogue and may clear up any remaining issues. Can't lose anything as if it doesn't work you can simply delete the new catalogue.

I have this too.
The problem is, when I apply a film simulation to *ALL* pictures. After this, adding a filled layer will have a border on the left and on the button of the frame. I can try to brush the mask in this areas but when I release my mouse button, the unmasked border will resume.
This happens only if I apply something like fujifilm film curves, etc on ALL pictures. Set all to default won't help.

bug happens in my sessions0 -
Same here. Fuji XT-3.
I removed the catalog and created a new one, but the issue persist. It's a real pain in the rear.0
