    Hello,

unfortunately, people are doomed to upgrade to "no so old" OS. Indeed, Apple makes big update every year. They do not add anything useful, but to add imcompatibilities... Softwarewise, this is brainless.

I would suggest to update to 10.9.x. or to wait for 10.11 (if it turn no so bad). 10.10 is bad, to my mind.

Not sure I understand you initial post.

Can you upgrade your Mac to 10.10? If you like to do that, at least download 10.10 today, because the 10.10 option will probably vanish after tomorrow's release of 10.11.

I agree, you should at least upgrade to Mac OS 10.10. Yosemite includes LOTS of improvements. It doesn't have lots of new features, but it is more stable, more secure, and faster. Both Mavericks and Yosemite include major improvements to the graphics libraries in OS X.
