    While we are working to improve speed accessing and working with networked and external drives, I cannot stress enough how dangerous it can be to shoot to an external drive. The added file transfer, permissions issues, and overall additional points of failure can lead to corruption, write errors, and difficulty reading files properly. We always recommend shooting to the local drive and then backing up to the external, raid or otherwise. Non-system internal drives that are connected via SATA are generally fine to shoot to as well provided they are formatted properly (OSX extended, journaled).

    If you experience general slowdown of Capture One you should check that you do not have lots of images in the session trash (in particular if your session trash is on a network drive). If you do, try deleting them permanently if possible by using File > Delete Permanently or File > Empty Session Trash
