Porcess Recipe
Hello,
Reading the Users Guide—putting it mildly—confused me.
How can I create a “Process Recipe
And then how is it used/started?
Thanks for your sage words.
Ciao,
Tom B

In a Process Recipe you define how you would like Capture One to output the results of your (adjustment) efforts. Do you want a TIFF or JPEG file, what profile (color space) et cetera.
In the standard version there is only a single recipe you can change any time. In the Pro/DB versions you can have multiple recipes prepared and waiting for you to make each of them active or not whenever you want. This allows you to switch between different type of output fast or output to multiple recipes (TIFF plus a small JPEG for example) in one go.0 -
Paul,
The advantages of "Process Recipes" are really alluring, specially with photographs made under the same conditions.
What I am trying to learn are the steps in creating a "Process Recipe".
I'm sorry if I was not clear.
Tom
PS: I'm on v5.0.0 -
When you are running CO5 Pro/DB you can create a new Process Recipe by clicking on the plus sign in the Process Recipes (note the plural -s) tool which is on top in the Output tool tab. Select the new recipe, rename if you want and fill in the parameters below in the Process Recipe (note the singular). Here you find 3 tabs: Basic, Advanced and Watermark. All you set here apply to the recipe you selected above.
If you are running CO5 (standard) edition then you have no Process Recipes tool, only a single process recipe with only the Basic tab and you miss a lot of fun. 😉0 -
Paul,
Please correct me. My impression is a “Recipe†contains all of the adjustments—WB, Exposure, HDR, lens, output, etc.—applied to photograph.
After defining the base recipe how is it saved? When needed how dose one run it on another photograph?

Tom, I am sorry but I have to take corrective measures 😉. In Capture One talk a recipe determines the output parameters of the program.
What you referred to are adjustments of an image. These are stored in settings files and adjustments can be copied from one image to another and either all adjustments or a subset. This goes in a copy/apply fashion and the Adjustment tool tab is the place to view and control that process (to start with; also note that CO5 has interesting additions in this area over CO4).
I am aware that the term 'process recipe' can have a different meaning in another program in the sense you referred to.0 -
Paul,
It is the 4pt type that always screws up the coffee cake RECIPE.
Thanks for clearring up the recipe.
