Recovering deleted files
Hi, I always use catalogues for any new job but on occasion ive accidentally deleted an image (removed reference) and when ive tried to reimport it all I get is a message that says its already in the catalogue.
I have also accidentally deleted the full lot when trying to remove one, forgetting ive got them all selected. Very easy to do and if I hadnt already backed up the catalogue then I would have had to start again.
How can I retrieve the images so they are referenced again without having to restore a backup?

Are you sure you haven't simply removed them from the collection (album) you were in, and not from the catalog itself? If CO tells you the pictures are already in the catalog, then… maybe they are. 😊 0 -
Quite possible, all im doing is clicking delete, then remove reference (not deleting from disk) but im not sure where to find them again. Its likely im missing something very simple but for the life of me I cant find them once ive hit that button and I usually end up having to create a new catalogue and importing a backup.
If I am doing what you said, how do I get them back to the album im working in?0 -
You wouldn' t get this "remove reference / delete from disk" dialog if you only deleted from an album/collection.
As I've never ever clicked "remove reference", I'm afraid I can't help you much here, sorry. 😊0
