4.8.3 not writing files
Hey everyone, first time user of the p1 forums.
Today at school my group was using a mamiya with a p25+ digiback tethered to my 13" Macbook with Snow Leopard installed using a trial version of Capture One Pro 4.8.3.
For the entire shoot the images that we were taking with the p25+ back were visible in Capture One's session window, full res. images.
Now, about half way through the shoot I backed up the files we'd shot. We continuted to shoot after about an hour break. During that hour break I shot for myself, and c1p wasn't responding and I had to force quit it, and relaunch finder. I continued to shoot tethered for myself.
Our group shot for about another 2 hours changing camera angles and everything. All the while we could fully see the images being produced tethered with the p25+.
I don't look at my hard drive on my computer or on my external hard drive until later and realize that the 2nd half of our shoot was NEVER saved onto my computer's hard drive. Nobody had changed the name, and I even searched my computer's hd for files created today and only the first half of our shoot came up (101 images).
Now, I've shot tethered before this with the 30-day trial and not once had this problem, while having snow leopard installed.
Does anyone know what might cause this because it would have sucked if this was an actual client I was shooting for spending real money and couple hours after the shoot is done, realize that, "oh crap, those images never saved!"
Luckily we got a couple of shots good enough to use but not nearly as many as I want. Is there any way to recover a loss like this?

The only way the images would not have been saved is if you were shooting in "Composition Mode" in which case you would have seen circles with "x" in the middle over the preview. 0 -
Hmm, that is interesting, because I don't remember there being any circle with a X over the image preview. I know what you're talking about though, and I really don't think that is the case, cause I probably would have noticed it.
Oh well, I used Data Rescue 3 to recover all my deleted files on my computer's hard drive and it recovered every single file, full resolution 5450x4090 px. The only interesting thing is is that the files were processed .tif files, and you could view them Adobe ACR full resolution.
I think somewhere down the line, one of my group members or I, pressed the delete button or something that triggered getting rid of all the files.
I'm reluctant to say that Data Rescue 3 is by far the best recovery software product I've ever used and it saved me.

haha, not at all. It just baffles me how this happened without anyone noticing before finishing the photoshoot, breaking down, and transferring the files to a group member's thumbdrive. 😉 😉
Always gotta pay attention when you hit that delete button!0
