Rename of Session or Catalog

You can just rename the file (actually a package) in the Finder, and the catalog name will change. With C1 closed, of course.

Yes tried doing what you suggested. But it did not work.

Do you mean that the OS didn't allow you to rename a file? Quite strange.
Once that you have renamed it there are several ways to open it (double click, drag and drop , ctrl+open with, launch CO and then select the file..)

Sorry maybe I did not have it clear. I can rename a file in the OS but it does not appear in the session name after I make the changes on the file. And that's is even after I close CO and make changes in the file name.

To be more explicit, when I start a session I gave it a name "Wedding shoot session" thereafter I decided to rename the session to "Betty's Wedding shoot session". How can I make the name change?

After sorting out and selected the good ones by the client, all the chosen picture under this session can I move it into "Wedding" catalog for permanent filing?

Generally if I create a new session and call it something like "Brighton", Capture One creates a folder called "Brighton" and a session file called "Brighton.cosessiondb". If I decided that I wanted to change the name to, say "Brighton weekend" I would (in Finder) change (a) the name of the folder to "Brighton weekend" and (b) the name of the session file to "Brighton weekend.cosessiondb"

If I were to then open Capture One, it would know nothing of this session and it would not appear on the drop down list of recent sessions. So I would open it for the first time by double-clicking the session file in Finder.

    Does that help?

Actually, it is the .cosessiondb files that caries the name we see in CO8. As Ian3 stated, it is common practise to rename both the session folder and the session file.

After all is done in your wedding shoot session, you can import the session entirely (including albums and/or favorites if you made them) into your catalog. This will create a separate project in your catalog, named after the session.
Or, you just import the folder(s) with images the regular way through the Import Images dialog. Do not forget to set import the existing adjustments as well (checkbox in dialog).
