Mac power failure - missing capture files

I'm using 3.7.9 but not new to Capture One Pro. The power on my Mac Pro was cut, and when restarted none of the capture files would preview anymore and were unreadable in photoshop, (the message said unsupportable file type and they were only 72kb instead of the usual 19mb). The processed images were all intact. I'm sure I've had power cuts before and all has been fine. Any ideas anyone, and would the files have been put somewhere else?

  Depending on where these files were residing at the time of the crash, they're likely lost if they are coming up as 72KB. That is the size usually associated with the thumbnail image and not the RAW itself. As such, if the images were in some Cache on your machine and you lost power, they would not have been written to the hard disk and they're now lost. ☹️
