Preview pictures are "wrong"
Hallo,
I was a Aperture 3 user, but wanna move now to C1. C1 has many very, very cool features!
I have a problem with the image preview.
Small preview shows CA's:
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/74czr6dsu3.jpg
This preview shows CA's too:
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/SyaPrABvMv.jpg
But on 100% view - now CA's are visible:
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/07IgVKDVvk.jpg
Also jpg-export - no CA's are shown.
So I tried to render the preview picture again - sorry, didn't help.
Also tried to enable and disable the lens correction, but didn't help.
Any idee what I can do try to see the "real" picture in C1 preview modes?
Is this a bug?
Thanks for your help!
Greetings,
Mike
P.S. Picture is shoot with Nikon D810 + Nikkor 14-24, 27"Imac with latest OSX-patch, Capture One Pro 8.2 trial mode

I'm assuming by CA's you mean chromatic aberrations - but if thats not the case, definitely correct us.
You didn't mention how you rebuilt the previews, so I will guess that you did it by going to File -> Regenerate previews.
Another thing you can try is to guarantee Capture One will generate new previews is by actually deleting the preview files themselves.
-Close Capture One
-Locate the CaptureOne directory that's in the same directory where your raw files are.
-Drill down into the Cache -> Proxies directory.
-Delete all of the .cop files (you can also delete the .cof files if you don't want to muck about trying to select the .cop files - they'll be regenerated also)
-Relaunch Capture One and wait a bit.
That'll force Capture One to generate new previews. If that doesn't do the job, then you should probably go ahead and submit a support request to PhaseOne directly. They're usually pretty responsive (generally within 24 hours).
Good luck!0 -
I think that it is the way C1 works that you will only see the full effect of corrections of chromatic aberration, or noise reduction, etc if you examine the image at 100%. Previews at a smaller size will only give you an approximation. But of course on processing the file to JPG, TIF, or whatever, you should get output with the CA, noise, etc, correctly dealt with.
So unless I am misunderstanding your post, I think that what you are seeing is normal.

Hi,
thanks a lot for your responses!

Yes 😉

Okay, I deleted all the files in folder Cache -> Preview and Cache -> Thumbnails and C1 generated them new after starting the programm.
But the same problem.
More examples:
100% Zoom, auto CA's correction activated, Image looks a bit different (check the color).

100% Zoom, no CA's correction activated, everything is OK

67% Zoom, no CA's correction activated, everything is OK

50% Zoom, no CA's correction activated, everything is OK

33% Zoom, no CA's correction activated, -> looks terrible ☹️

33% Zoom, auto CA's correction activated, -> looks terrible ☹️

browser-view thumbnails are not okay. ☹️

I don't hope so that this normal. I think it is an bug not a feature 😉
After a short time of playing with C1 I have to say I love it. The switch from Aperture to C1 is not easy because I miss some features but the RAW-engine in C1 is wounderful 😉
Thanks for your help!

Hi,
an an other question. If I resize the C1 window the rating-stars disappear...
ratings-stars (bottom right)
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/qEC47XGOTO.jpg
C1 windows size is a bit taller -> now only 2,5 stars are seen
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/QkJxSdugyK.jpg
C1 windows size is a bit taller again -> no more stars?
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/wm3Y8u7AqC.jpg
And is there a possibility to show the ratings-stars, ISO, aperture and focal length when lanching the full screen mode in OSX?
And possible to add(customisze) more parameter like lens, camera model, raw or jpg on this information panel?
http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/TooFgEYIGg.jpg
I'm missing that Aperture feature.
Thanks!

Yes I am seeing a problem with disappearing rating stars/colour codes that I don't recall having before 8.2.
