web contact sheet problem
Hi, I'm not having much luck with the web contact sheet, it's all full of what look like jpeg artifacts and I'd say it's oversharpened. Even the thumbs have this quality. Compared to what I'm getting in Expression Media it's pretty bad, I figure I must be overlooking some controls. Has anyone gotten this to work properly?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
Yes it´s working...and must say that I´m very happy with it...
Even did the photogallery on my homepages with it !
Maybe a stupid question, but have you checked the image quality etc. controls to fit your needs ? Also what I do is, that when processing contact sheet, I disable the sharpening in C1 and postsharpen the images with photoshop...
Edit: Dont´t know if it has any meaning, but I use 4.5.1 since I can´t get the 4.5.2 to work properly.
Edit2: Just noticed that this is the mac-forum and I use windows 🤭0 -

Interesting contradiction since 4.5.2 is a Mac-only release... 😉0 -
Damn !!! 😂
Yes... 4.5 is the correct answer...0 -
Thanks for the reply, Vesa. Actually I just had to export it to really see it and it's fine using the higher quality settings, I need to get past just reacting to first impressions. The previews or proxies or whatever they are as it's being built are what I was fixating on. I still find the previews oversharp but if you make them larger they're not as bad.
Thanks,

Ok, I'm finding this works for small galleries of selects but as a means of sharing proofs of a whole shoot it's awkward with all the scrolling needed to find where you are in the collection after closing the previews. Maybe I'm comparing apples with oranges here and it's not intended for this, but if it automatically flipped to an area of the index containing the thumb of the last viewed preview (like the html galleries in iVMP/EM) it'd be more useable.
