corrupted session files
Since installing 5.1, when I try and open the sessions I created in 5.01 and 5.02, over half of them are coming up corrupted and will not open. I am assuming there is some kind of checking code in the new version for this. I had been having the sort issue before and then the files would become corrupt. hopefully this version fixes it because most of my sessions appear to have problems.

Make sure there are the new icons for the col file. Also, I find that you need to trash any preferences when you make any upgrades to this software. I hope this helps 0 -

Correct. If there was a corrupt session in a previous version, Capture One will require you recreate it before moving forward.0 -

Drew,
I am having the same problem with a few of my sessions in 5.1. What exactly do you mean by recreating a session? Is there a way to do it that will preserve the adjustments from the previous session?

Rob,
Adjustments = Settings files
Organization = Session file
Your adjustments are not tied to the session file in any way. All you need to do is delete the corrupt COL50 file, then open Capture One and File>New Session. Once you create a new session, replace the new (empty) Capture Folder with the old (full) Capture Folder, from the corrupt session. From there follow suite with the Move To, Output and Trash folder if necessary. Voila, the new session works just as the last.0 -

Thanks, Drew. That solved the problem. The only thing that was lost was an Album that I had previously created. Also, I ran into the issue of rearranging Favoriies folders causing the program to crash. That certainly makes it difficult to use Favorites folders in a coherent fashion.

yes the last part is a known issue that is already posted. I am sure it will be fixed asap. 0 -
In general if Capture One complains about not being able to open a session file (most likely because it became invalid when using version Capture One 5.0.x)  then you should follow the following procedure:
• You should no longer load this session file (unfortunately you will loose the albums and list of favourite folders you had created in that session). Your image adjustments, presets, styles, LCC profiles and recipes will NOT be lost because they are not saved in the session file
• Create a new session in Capture One then Quit Capture One
• Copy (or move) the subfolders from the invalid session (Capture, MoveTo, Output, Trash) into the new session folder
• Relaunch Capture One0 -
Or, in amendment to the above, just delete the corrupt session and then create a new session to the same parent folder location using an identical session name. Once you do, a new COL50 file will magically appear, leaving the other folders just as they were. No overwriting or creation conflicts. 0
