Recover Catalog from old disk
Hi,
I've had to get a new PC after the CPU on my old one failed.
There were no problems with the disks on the old PC (all my photos were on synchronised external drives so no loss of those).
I've got the internal disk from my old PC in a USB connected SATA caddy and able to recover anything off it that I would like. It contains my old C1 7 catalogs. I also used to periodically backup my catalog.
Is there any easy way (after copying them to my new PC for C1 7) to pick up the catalog either from the main catalog file or the backups.

Each catalog is a folder structure with a *.cocatalogdb file in it. You can copy that folder structure to any location you please on your new system. This will copy all previews, adjustments and metadata with it.
Any image that you imported inside the catalog, will also come along with the action described. Any image imported but kept in the current location, outside the catalog, might need re-locating. You can do that from the Library tool, Folders section.
You open the catalog by opening the *.cocatalogdb file from Capture One or by double-clicking it in Explorer.0 -
Thanks Paul.
I'm now copying the relevant catalogs as you suggest.
I've kept precisely the same drive letters and folder structures as on my previous PC so I'm hoping to minimise any relocation issues.0
