Pin Compare Variant Across Folders

Hello,

I'm looking to pin a compare variant and allow it to travel (stay pinned) across multiple folders.

Is there a way to do this? If not, what's the best alternative outside of actually moving the image to another folder?

Also, tried making a new variant of an image and moving that but I guess that breaks the link so it's not allowed.

  In a session, the file has to exist in a folder (if its actual folders you are viewing) for it to show (I assume this is a reference target?) or you could use a workflow of favourites and smart albums.
  
  If you are technically inclined could have a script choose and copy a file from a location into the folder you are viewing, hit enter to hold it as compare variant and delete it after but it depends if that agrees with your notion of moving stuff between folders.

  When i compare images across different folders, i color tag and find them under "all images", it is not super fast but it works 😊
