Moving images and adjustments et. al. to a new disk appears to be a major challenge for Capture One. The solution I've found for all the problems reported below is ... painful, would not work if extensive work were done on a number of images, and is painful, painful, painful.

Simply add folders on new disk mirroring structure on old disk. Apparently this must be done to the lowest level for only then will synchronize folder work. Then find all images on old disk with adjustments and copy and apply to image on new disk.

Did I say this was painful? There appear to be a number of old posts on this issue all of which are inapplicable referencing Media Pro and commands, such as move, that no longer appear.

Anyone with a simpler, workable solution please chime in by all means.

Filled up existing disk. Copied entire set of images to new disk. Pointed Cap One at it importing all. I seem however to have lost adjustments made to the images in the existing disk. I use only the referenced method, not the Catalog.

Not sure but it sounds like you did use a catalog. After moving referenced images to a new location you should NOT import them again. Instead, locate the images from the library of the catalog.

Well, I guess there's no way of not using a catalog just how it is used. All my images are not stored in the catalog although I suppose they are "cataloged" for db purposes. It's the variants that are the mystery in the moving process as they don't move being virtual. Perhaps locating the images from the catalog would bring in all the variants also. I guess this means one should move the All Images catalog to the new location?

The correct flow when moving to a new disk would be
    - Make sure your Catalog db is on a local disk
    - Shut down CO
    - Move the referenced images, using the same folder-structure as before.
    - Start CO and use the Locate functionality to re-locate the images.
    - All done
