Can you recommend any books on Capture One?
As well as your Capture One tutorials and other free material such as at Capture-U, can you recommend any really excellent books in hard copy? I tried a search at Amazon but, unfortunately, with a word like "Capture" in the name, that leads me down a blind alley.
Capture One clearly does the basics with tremendous elegance and charisma. It is an inspired product but I can also see that hidden from the uninitiated there is a lot more and probably some of it is too good to be missed.
I do not want to spend more on on-line video training. I am already over budget having just indulged in a Nikon D300, not that I regret it in the slightest. It's OK for professionals and those who are still working but I am an amateur and retired at that!
By the way, thank my lucky stars I chanced upon Capture One while seeking to avoid an upgrade from CS2 to CS4 merely so I could read NEFs from my D300. It is a pleasure to use whereas Adobe Camera RAW is "raw" and in CS2 often hangs for no apparent reason! They can keep it.

Probably for the reason that COne has been constantly changed by upgrades that add features...at no charge to users, any book would be out-of-date by the time it could be published and distributed....to my knowledge no such book exists. There ARE books on other converters, but that's generally because any changes are issued only with an upgrade at long intervals....
As a user, I'd rather have a feature added as it evolves rather than wait a year or so for the next upgrade. But that does inhibit the industry that trains from adopting COne. Too bad, I really think there's a conflict of interest when the "experts" benefit financially from recommending the product that also supplies them with a core training business rather than the one that would benefit users the most...but there it is.....
FWIW, the user manual is updated with each version, that is the very best current word on the feature set. Capture_U speaks to some general workflow0 -
Thank you but I am far from impressed. Please see my answer to your second reply about "I do not want to save, only manipulate". 0
